I said, well over \u2014 what\u2019s the number again, I have to remind myself \u2014 350 million Americans have already been vaccinated. They\u2019re doing fine,\u201d Biden said at the White House during remarks about the July jobs report.<\/p>\n<p>Biden repeated the claim at another point during his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have roughly 350 million people vaccinated in the United States, and billions around the world,\u201d the president said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s claim of 350 million vaccinated is 20 million people higher than the country\u2019s whole population, which hit 330 million last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/stories\/2020\/07\/census-bureau-estimates-united-states-population-reached-330-million-today.html\">according<\/a> to the Census Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Biden may have intended to refer to the number of vaccine doses administered, which is closer to the number he stated. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/covid-data\/covidview\/index.html\">says<\/a> on its website that 348.9 million vaccine doses have been administered as of Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Pfizer, Moderna, and Astrazeneca vaccines all require recipients to receive two doses per person. The Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccine is administered in only one dose.<\/p>\n<p>Half of the U.S. population has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, White House Data Director Dr. Cyrus Shahpar <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cyrusshahpar46\/status\/1423672990009413633\">said<\/a> Friday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"7.9274611398964\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Joe Biden just claimed &#8220;350 million&#8221; Americans have been vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>There are only 328 million people in the United States. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mdJ2VRCp8c\">pic.twitter.com\/mdJ2VRCp8c<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Caleb Hull (@CalebJHull) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CalebJHull\/status\/1423671168020660224?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As of Thursday, the CDC said that&nbsp;about 193.2 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine, and about 165.6 million people are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last seven days, 699,261 shots have been administered each day, a nearly 14% increase from the previous week but still down from a peak in April of more than 3 million jabs administered each day.<\/p>\n<p>The first coronavirus vaccine dose was administered nine months ago on on December 14.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has recently made several other unscripted comments that the White House has subsequently had to clarify.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the president told reporters that Facebook was \u201ckilling people\u201d by allowing misinformation about vaccines to proliferate on its platform.<\/p>\n<p>Biden later backtracked, saying that Facebook \u201cisn\u2019t killing people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy hope is that Facebook, instead of taking it personally \u2014 that somehow I\u2019m saying Facebook is killing people \u2014 that they would do something about the misinformation, the outrageous information about the vaccine. That\u2019s what I meant,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Biden joked that he was \u201cgoing to get in trouble with my staff\u201d when he took a question from a reporter that was not on his initial list of journalists, sparking concerns about how much control his staff leveraged over his interactions with the press.<\/p>\n<p>This week, Biden reprimanded Republican governors who are resistant to &nbsp;mask mandates and rules requiring people to be vaccinated in order to participate in certain activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re not going to help, at least get out of the way of people trying to do the right thing,\u201d Biden said.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has also expressed his support for New York City\u2019s new rules requiring people to be vaccinated in order to go to the gym or dine indoors.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
