He scaled back the exclusive event after he faced withering criticism for hosting it as the Delta variant of COVID-19 sweeps the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Obama&#8217;s fleshless feast will serve as an endorsement for Impossible Foods, Eat Just, and Perfect Day, the false-meat companies that will cater the food, which was overseen by the musician Questlove.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear if the former president will offer another menu that includes meat products.<\/p>\n<p>Plant-based foods that mimic meat have become increasingly popular\u2014and embraced by Democratic politicians\u2014in recent years.
