It has infected more than 63 million people and killed more than 1.46 million, <a href=\"https:\/\/coronavirus.jhu.edu\/map.html\">according<\/a> to Johns Hopkins University, which doesn\u2019t include those who died from draconian lockdowns. Internal documents show, however, that 5,918 new cases had actually been detected.<\/p>\n<p>The problem with CNN\u2019s supposedly blockbuster reporting, however, is that it revealed nothing the honest news consumer didn\u2019t already know, and which The Federalist had already reported for months, including <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/07\/no-new-china-deaths-reported-does-not-mean-no-new-china-deaths\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/23\/why-on-earth-should-anyone-believe-communist-chinas-coronavirus-statistics\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/30\/estimates-show-wuhan-death-rate-far-higher-than-chinas-official-reports\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/24\/tucker-carlson-guest-dismantles-chinas-no-new-cases-wuhan-virus-lies\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/01\/sasse-the-chinese-communist-party-is-lying-about-its-wuhan-virus-data\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/03\/house-republicans-seek-answers-on-u-s-efforts-to-combat-chinese-propaganda\">here<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/07\/cooperate-with-china-not-until-it-stops-lying-about-the-coronavirus\">here<\/a>. The Federalist was smeared and jeered for steadfastly reporting the truth that the novel virus originated in Wuhan, China and that China\u2019s claims about the virus couldn\u2019t be trusted based on the communist regime\u2019s documented pattern of lies. For refusing to back down from the truth under politicized pressure, The Federalist and other right-leaning outlets were constantly attacked.<\/p>\n<p>For months it\u2019s been brazenly obvious that China was deliberately underreporting its cases of the Wuhan virus. The Chinese government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/the-morning-jolt\/chinas-devastating-lies\/\">lied about every aspect<\/a> of the global crisis, including its origin, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=4&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjWy8jS7NboAhUpgnIEHZ8kBMUQFjADegQIBRAB&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.businessinsider.com%2Fchina-coronavirus-whistleblowers-speak-out-vanish-2020-2&amp;usg=AOvVaw1eZUqH7pIOIcQEYeXG-Hxg\">silencing whistleblowers<\/a>\u00a0who sounded the alarm,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2020\/2\/10\/21124881\/coronavirus-outbreak-china-li-wenliang-world-health-organization\">hiding<\/a> crucial information from health experts, and pushing the World Health Organization into <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WHO\/status\/1217043229427761152?s=20\">lying<\/a> about the nature of the virus itself. At the pandemic\u2019s onset, China again proved it cannot be trusted with its own statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequent reporting in April on a classified brief delivered to the White House later showed the U.S. intelligence community believed China was fabricating its public figures on the virus. Hard evidence that was public at the time supported the intelligence community\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n<p>That includes a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/30\/estimates-show-wuhan-death-rate-far-higher-than-chinas-official-reports\">report<\/a> from the government-funded nonprofit Radio Free Asia finding the death toll in Wuhan to be far higher than the 3,000 deaths the Chinese government was claiming at the time. CNN or Xi Jingping?<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several other major American media outlets joined the effort lauding China\u2019s triumph based on fabricated figures while condemning President Donald Trump for blaming the virus on the east Asian adversary.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">China reported no new novel coronavirus deaths or locally transmitted cases yesterday, according to the country&#39;s National Health Commission. <\/p>\n<p>There were 32 new cases &#8212; all of them imported from abroad. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zrsGxqFvYd\">https:\/\/t.co\/zrsGxqFvYd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; CNN International (@cnni) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cnni\/status\/1247405779067568128?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 7, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The same outlets that had used the phrase \u201cWuhan coronavirus\u201d then began attacking the president for saying \u201cWuhan coronavirus\u201d after the Chinese Communist Party successfully weaponized the United States\u2019s woke media elites to deflect its responsibility for the virus they released to the world by calling the term racist.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Liberal media pundits want you to think referring to the coronavirus as the &quot;Wuhan&quot; or &quot;Chinese&quot; virus is racist.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#39;s just a few of the times the liberal media did just that. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ss3kV5smSP\">pic.twitter.com\/ss3kV5smSP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; MRCTV (@mrctv) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mrctv\/status\/1238186498433966081?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 12, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Even though it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/13\/17-diseases-named-after-places-or-people\">common practice<\/a> to name novel diseases after a population or site of its first major outbreak, activist journalists spent <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/18\/trumps-answer-when-asked-why-he-calls-it-the-chinese-virus-because-it-comes-from-china\">previous time<\/a> during White House briefings to launch their <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/10\/02\/when-the-media-ask-trump-to-denounce-white-supremacy-theyre-accusing-him-of-it\">favorite line of attack<\/a> by calling the president racist.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">President Trump is asked about using the term &quot;Chinese Virus&quot;:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChina was putting out information, which was false, that our military gave this to them, that was false. And rather than having an argument, I have to call it where it came from.
