She was brought to the airport in order to go back to Belarus, but told Japanese authorities that she did not want to go back to her home country.&nbsp;She asked for help from the law enforcement authorities when she got to the airport.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/lifestyle\/sports\/two-belarus-team-members-stripped-games-accreditation-removed-olympic-village-2021-08-05\/\"><span class=\"s1\">Reuters<\/span><\/a>, Tsimanouskaya said earlier this week that the two people had informed her that the command to send her back to Belarus had come from \u201chigh up\u201d in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI am under pressure and they are trying to take me out of the country without my consent. I ask the International Olympic Committee to interfere,\u201d she said in a video posted by Belarusian Sports Solidarity Foundation, a non-governmental organization.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI am afraid that in Belarus they might put me in jail. I am not afraid that I will be fired or kicked out of the national command,\u201d she&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/olympics\/2021\/08\/02\/belarusian-olympian-poland-visa\/\"><span class=\"s1\">told<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;Belarusian media outlet Tribuna. \u201cI am worried about my safety. And I think that at the moment it is not safe for me in Belarus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On Sunday, Poland\u2019s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Marcin Pryzdacz, said that Tsimanouskaya had been given a visa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cPoland is ready to help Kryscina Tsimanouskaya a Belarusian athlete ordered by the Lukashenka regime to return form (sic) Olympic Games to Minsk,\u201d&nbsp;Pryzdacz said on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/marcin_przydacz\/status\/1421908856377065474?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1421908856377065474%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/belarusian-sprinter-who-said-she-was-being-sent-home-under-pressure-granted-polish-visa\"><span class=\"s1\">Twitter<\/span><\/a>.&nbsp;\u201cShe was offered a humanitarian visa and is free to pursue her sporting career in Poland if she so chooses.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/belarus-olympian-who-feared-returning-offered-safety-in-austria-husband-flees-for-poland\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>, \u201cTsimanouskaya was reportedly told to fly to Austria first by Polish security officials, according to the Belarusian Sports Solidarity Foundation, which helped to organize what appears to now be a defection.&nbsp;She will meet her husband, who fled Belarus after learning of his wife\u2019s troubles, in Poland. He has also been offered a visa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe are very happy that she is here safe,\u201d an Austrian official said on Wednesday. \u201cBut she is scared about her future and about her family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Olympic situation unfolded in light of recent abuses and infringements of human rights that have taken place in Belarus against journalists. The European country of Belarus has had the attention of the international community after its tumultuous and allegedly fraudulent presidential election last year.&nbsp;Earlier this year, the regime reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/video-of-detained-belarusian-journalist-released-supporters-believe-was-filmed-under-duress\"><span class=\"s1\">grounded<\/span><\/a> a civilian flight that was carrying a dissident journalist and arrested the man.
