Andrew Cuomo\u2019s (R) attorneys the Assembly\u2019s impeachment probe into his sexual harassment allegations was coming to a close. On Thursday, the state\u2019s judiciary committee told the governor he had until August 13 to provide any final evidence in his defense.<\/p>\n<p>Sources mentioned they wanted the governor to submit his evidence in writing as having him testify would give him more attention. In addition, the assembly wrote they would \u201csoon consider potential articles of impeachment against the client.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Experts on the matter have believed Cuomo\u2019s impeachment report would not be limited to state Attorney General Letitia James\u2019s sexual harassment findings, but also the governor\u2019s controversial $5 million book deal and his role in the nursing home deaths scandal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8\ud83d\udea8 MY FULL STATEMENT CALLING FOR THE ARREST OF GOVERNOR CUOMO \ud83d\udea8\ud83d\udea8 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Xxl5ugsxTk\">pic.twitter.com\/Xxl5ugsxTk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Elise Stefanik (@EliseStefanik) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EliseStefanik\/status\/1422587916921016324?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 3, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If the New York Assembly voted for articles of impeachment, the matter would be pushed to the Senate floor for trial. Meanwhile, Democrat and Republican politicians have been calling on Cuomo to resign and suggested it was in everyone\u2019s best interest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf he was not such a narcissist and he could actually think about other human beings, he would say \u2018hey, I\u2019m doing a lot of damage at this point, it\u2019s time to go,&#8217;\u201d expressed. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D). \u201cThink about those 11 women and what he put them through. Just out of respect for how he wronged them and to atone for his sins, he should step aside now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Cuomo said he would not resign. His refusal would likely result in an impeachment trial.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, New York lawmakers claim there to be challenges of impeaching Cuomo.
