The Democrat signed an executive order at a press conference on Thursday, which outlined an objective for car manufacturers to make electric vehicles roughly half of U.S. sales by the end of 2030 as well as improve gas mileage and cut tailpipe pollution by model year 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see that sucker over there? Zero to 60 in 4.1 seconds. It\u2019s all electric,\u201d he stated. \u201cThey\u2019re a vision of the future that is now beginning to happen. A future of the automobile industry that is electric, battery electric, plug in hybrid electric, fuel cell electric.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We&#8217;re driving into the future with our new clean cars proposal. \ud83d\ude97  EPA is staying true to our mission of protecting human health and the environment by setting vehicle standards to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hosxcnunhI\">https:\/\/t.co\/hosxcnunhI<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 U.S. EPA (@EPA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EPA\/status\/1423377055081811985?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 5, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden went on to claim his latest executive order would create union jobs because the new batteries these electric vehicles require would need to be built.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Build Back Better plan makes the largest investment of research and development in generations. This will help innovate, manufacture and build supply chains for batteries, semi conductors, those small computer chips,\u201d he explained. \u201cElectric trucks and cars are going to be even more reliant as we move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden then appeared all too eager to say he was rolling back President Trump\u2019s more relaxed government regulations on emissions.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say, \u201cI\u2019m following through on the campaign commitment to reverse the previous administrations short sighted rollback of vehicle emissions and efficiency standards.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What\u2019s in Biden\u2019s \u201cinfrastructure\u201d plan?
