Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) on an op-ed Cuomo wrote in an attempt to discredit one of his accusers, Lindsey Boylan. The Free Beacon\u2019s Chuck Ross <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/times-up-founder-helped-cuomo-team-smear-governors-accuser\/\">reported<\/a> that the New York Attorney General\u2019s office discovered the op-ed, which was never published, had been sent to Kaplan and Time\u2019s Up CEO Tina Tchen, both of whom signed off on most of the language of the piece.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Kaplan and Tchen] allegedly suggested that, without the statements about Ms. Boylan\u2019s interactions with male colleagues, the letter was fine,\u201d the report from New York Attorney General Letitia James found. The report also said that Cuomo\u2019s op-ed \u201cdenied the legitimacy of Ms. Boylan\u2019s allegations, impugned her credibility, and attacked her claims as politically motivated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Ross noted, the findings in the report \u201ccould undercut Kaplan and her organization\u2019s claims to be champions of the #MeToo movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to signing off on the op-ed, Kaplan is serving as legal counsel for Melissa DeRosa, the Cuomo aide who requested Boylan\u2019s confidential file from her time working for Cuomo just hours after Boylan tweeted that Cuomo sexually harassed her. DeRosa is also the same aide who&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-cuomos-top-aide-says-new-york-hid-nursing-home-death-toll\">admitted<\/a>&nbsp;to withholding New York\u2019s nursing-home death total from COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time Time\u2019s Up has protected powerful Democrats from the women who accused them. The organization also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/times-up-declined-to-assist-biden-accuser-tara-reade-ceo-praised-biden-instead\">declined to assist<\/a> Tara Reade, who accused President Joe Biden of sexual assault.<\/p>\n<p>Time\u2019s Up also isn\u2019t the only organization that went against its stated mission to protect Cuomo. As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/top-cuomo-adviser-sent-confidential-information-about-accuser-to-media-outlets-in-attempt-to-discredit-her-report\">reported<\/a>, Alphonso David, former counsel to Cuomo who became the president of the Human Rights Campaign, also worked to help Cuomo try to discredit Boylan.<\/p>\n<p>After DeRosa requested Boylan\u2019s \u201cfull file,\u201d according to the AG report, David said another staffer should be able to get that for her.<\/p>\n<p>On December 11, 2020, just two days after Boylan\u2019s first tweet about Cuomo, David sent one of Cuomo\u2019s top advisers, Rich Azzopardi, \u201cfiles relating to his investigation into and counseling of Ms. Boylan shortly before her departure from the Executive Chamber that he had retained and taken with him when he left the Executive Chamber.\u201d The report refers to these files as the \u201cConfidential Files,\u201d which included:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>a September 20, 2018 memorandum to Mr. David Regarding \u2018Confidential Personnel Matter\u201d;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>a September 26, 2018 memorandum to Mr. David labeled \u201cDraft, privileged and confidential \u2013 Attorney Client Privileged Communication \/ Intra-Agency Communication \/ Memo to File\u201d;<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>a September 30, 2018 email from Mr. David labeled \u201cPrivileged and confidential \/ Attorney client communication \/ Attorney work product.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>David told investigators with the AG\u2019s office that he kept copies of these files because it \u201cmay have been the only instance where [he] was actually involved in a counseling of an employee when [he] was in the Executive Chamber.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Azzopardi sent those confidential files to numerous reporters at top news outlets.<\/p>\n<p>As Ross noted, David has since <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlphonsoDavid\/status\/1422685986753060866\">called<\/a> for Cuomo to resign without acknowledging \u201chis involvement in the smear campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Time\u2019s Up also released a statement calling for Cuomo to resign, also without acknowledging Kaplan or Tchen\u2019s reported advice for Cuomo\u2019s attempted op-ed.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
