And we\u2019ve seen a number of states, red states and blue states do this very effectively. Texas as an example I used yesterday, Virginia is one I highlighted today. This is why we\u2019re doing as much of this outreach and engagement as we\u2019re doing and simplifying forms, making it easier for people to understand.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.7464387464387\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Great questions from Peter Doocy to Jen Psaki about how landlords (and specifically smaller ones) are struggling to pay their bills and stay afloat due to the eviction moratoriums. It&#8217;s safe to say it&#8217;s been an issue that&#8217;s been overlooked in this pandemic by the liberal media. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DdVMEddKy6\">pic.twitter.com\/DdVMEddKy6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CurtisHouck\/status\/1422968941362618369?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 4, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Doocy also pressed Psaki about Biden\u2019s border crisis after border officials <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/enough-people-crossed-border-2021-create-10th-largest-city-us-1615776\">encountered<\/a>&nbsp;an estimated 210,000 people attempting to illegally enter the U.S. during the month of July, the highest number in decades \u2014 a development which has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-top-republican-calls-for-impeaching-biden-and-dhs-chief-over-border-crisis\">spurred<\/a> calls for impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>Doocy asked Psaki if Biden thinks his immigration plan is working given the fact that the U.S. is seeing \u201crecord numbers\u201d of people illegally trying to enter the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the President continues to convey to anyone, as you\u2019ve said, who wants to come to the United States, now is not the time to come,\u201d Psaki said. \u201cIt is not the time to come and try to go through irregular migration, we want to have an effective process where you can apply for asylum, where you can apply for legal status, we have increased our investment in areas like the Central American Minors program, allowing people to apply from within country, so they are not making that dangerous trip. There\u2019s more that needs to be done. We\u2019ve also instituted a number of additional steps recently, including expedited removals to move people out of the country more quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, the message to migrants is the same even though they are coming at 21-year high, 210,000 encounters at the border last month?\u201d Doocy asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I would also note the number of people who were who were removed from the border, which is an important part of the context, which is almost half of that number,\u201d Psaki claimed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut he\u2019s saying don\u2019t come and they\u2019re coming,\u201d Doocy responded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, there are a number of factors, as you all know, that are happening in these countries and we\u2019re working to address those as well,\u201d Psaki claimed. \u201cAnd the Vice President is leading those efforts. We don\u2019t expect that to be a switch.
