And that\u2019s just how it\u2019s always been.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To that end, David said he\u2019s more interested in exploring the story of the president\u2019s son as a compelling drama rather than a political screed, saying of the script, \u201cIt tells the story, but it humanizes the characters. It\u2019s telling facts, it\u2019s telling what happened, and at the same time it\u2019s a delicate story because \u2014 you know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davi also described how his personal experiences color his view of the younger Biden\u2019s struggles, saying, \u201cI have family members who struggled with addiction and some who still continue to struggle with addiction. So there\u2019s a sensitivity toward that and not to demonize something \u2013 a story.\u201d He added, \u201cIt will tastefully show most of the \u2013 because, you know, it\u2019s interesting\u2026 you show the good with the bad. \u2018You know, that\u2019s life. And it\u2019s nothing he\u2019s not admitted to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The other factor motivating the 70-year-old star is the fact that so few established media outlets or film companies have shown an interest in Hunter Biden\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt just was a very riveting story. I was wondering why it was so underreported around the world, or at least investigation \u2013 why it wasn\u2019t investigated enough,\u201d Davi said of the lack of coverage when the news about Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop first broke, adding, \u201cMost people don\u2019t know all the details about it. Meanwhile, we have tremendous facts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Comparing the scandal to movies about Watergate, Davi highlighted present-day Hollywood\u2019s lack of interest in something he believes is even more nefarious. \u201cHere\u2019s a guy who admits to being high on a crack pipe while he\u2019s meeting with leaders of other parts of the world, making deals and getting $83,000 a month for five years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Davi also pointed out that few Europeans are even aware of the scandals surrounding Hunter Biden because so few American news outlets reported on it. \u201cThat\u2019s what was part of the frustration of it, of it being whitewashed by the mainstream media \u2013 most of the mainstream media. And most of the people in the world \u2013 I mean if you ask people in Europe, they really don\u2019t know any of the story.
