The agency showed that 70% of adults have gotten at least one dose. The number of adults who have received one dose was 180,762,301<span class=\"s2\"> people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The news comes after the CDC reversed its masking guidance for fully-vaccinated individuals last week, causing confusion across the country. Several companies have notified their employees that they will be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine before returning to work.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition, some local jurisdictions are pushing for indoor mask-wearing for fully-vaccinated individuals while some school districts are doing the same for schools in the fall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nyc-mayor-de-blasio-steers-clear-of-mask-mandate-strongly-recommends-masks-indoors\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>, Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/08\/02\/nyregion\/de-blasio-masks-vaccines.html\"><span class=\"s1\">pressed<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;the public to wear masks inside, regardless of vaccination status, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe want to strongly recommend that people wear a mask in indoor settings even if you\u2019re vaccinated,\u201d he&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/565919-de-blasio-stops-short-of-mask-mandate-in-nyc-but-issues-strong\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;during a briefing. \u201cNow this is particularly true, of course, if you might be around anyone unvaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cVaccines are the number one most powerful weapon against COVID by far,\u201d de Blasio&nbsp;said. \u201cBut we also clearly believe there\u2019s a place for masks. Everything thing we do is vaccine-centric. The entire strategy is around vaccines, but of course, we want to make sure people are using masks in all the right way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">City&nbsp;Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi said the decision came after new information revealed the delta variant \u201ccan spread even more easily than previously thought.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWhile vaccination may be \u2018for the win,\u2019 we need to keep putting points on the board against the virus, and that\u2019s where masks come in,\u201d Chokshi said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Other lawmakers have pushed to maintain individual freedoms and liberties with regard to mask-wearing. Last week, Republican Florida Ron DeSantis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/desantis-signs-executive-order-giving-parents-power-to-choose-whether-to-mask-their-kids-at-school\"><span class=\"s1\">signed<\/span><\/a> an executive order in an effort to put the decision of whether or not children wear masks in the hands of their parents.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cToday, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 21-175, in response to several Florida school boards considering or implementing mask mandates in their schools after the Biden Administration issued unscientific and inconsistent recommendations that school-aged children wear masks,\u201d the governor\u2019s office&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/2021\/07\/30\/governor-desantis-issues-an-executive-order-ensuring-parents-freedom-to-choose\/\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;in a statement on Friday. \u201cThe Florida Department of Health will enter rulemaking in collaboration with the Florida Department of Education to protect parents\u2019 freedom to choose whether their children wear masks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">DeSantis said at a news conference where he signed the order that \u201cthe federal government has no right to tell parents that in order for their kids to attend school in person, they must be forced to wear a mask all day, every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The executive order came after some districts have moved to potentially require masks to be worn at schools in the fall after the CDC reversed its guidance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
