Tom Emmer (R-MN) in the statement. \u201cWe are focused on pursuing every avenue possible to further our mission of stopping Nancy Pelosi\u2019s socialist agenda and retaking the House majority, and this innovative technology will help provide Republicans the resources we need to succeed.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To avoid the election fundraising regulations that surround cryptocurrency, the NRCC plans to convert all donations immediately to cash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As Axios <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/house-gop-nrcc-cryptocurrency-campaign-donations-6868fcc1-8477-434b-811a-18e256dd7dbc.html\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"16\">\n<p><i><span>Crypto donations will be immediately converted into dollars before landing in the NRCC\u2019s account\u2026 the committee will never actually take possession of the donated cryptocurrencies, allowing it to accept individual donations of up to $10,000 per year, rather than the $100 value for transfers of actual cryptocurrency like Bitcoin that the FEC approved in a 2014 ruling.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span>In other words, the NRCC isn\u2019t actually receiving crypto, it\u2019s just soliciting proceeds from their sales\u2026 allowing a more seamless transaction from crypto holdings to political contributions.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Emmer is a Co-Chair of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/congressionalblockchaincaucus-schweikert.house.gov\/about\"><span>Congressional Blockchain Caucus<\/span><\/a><span> \u2014 a bipartisan group of \u201cMembers of Congress and Staff who believe in the future of blockchain technology, and understand that Congress has a role to play in its development.\u201d The group is \u201cfascinated with the potential for blockchain technology to significantly improve identity management, asset tracking and ownership, healthcare records management, intellectual property rights, and much more.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency transmitted via <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/what-exactly-is-bitcoin-heres-how-the-worlds-largest-cryptocurrency-actually-works\"><span>blockchain<\/span><\/a><span> \u2014 a public, virtual list that offers protection from counterfeiting.
