In an interview on Friday, the Trump-era coronavirus testing czar said indoor masks would be needed if vaccinations continued at their current pace.<\/p>\n<p>The former four-star admiral warned if more people didn\u2019t get vaccinated, the government would be put into the situation of considering more lockdowns. He added this would be a \u201cdisaster\u201d and insisted lockdowns were counter-productive as well as \u201chorrible for our children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giroir went on to slam public health advisers for changing masking guidelines while not releasing the data behind the decision at the same time. However, he suggested individuals in high-risk areas to continue the usage of masks in effort to avoid becoming infected with the Delta variant.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">America is <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CovidConfused?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CovidConfused<\/a> regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/masking?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#masking<\/a>.  It is imperative that <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CDCDirector?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CDCDirector<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@POTUS<\/a> release their data on the specific frequency of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/vaccinated?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#vaccinated<\/a> people transmitting <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/DeltaVariant?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#DeltaVariant<\/a> to others.
