The country has been able to make a lot of progress thanks to the distribution of the vaccine, but it will likely take a long time for the unemployment rate to return to the historic low it experienced prior to the coronavirus crisis. Some cities\u2019 jobs have weathered the storm better than others, though.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The ten worst cities for labor market recovery include the three largest metropolitan areas in the United States \u2014 New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago, led by Democratic mayors Bill de Blasio, Eric Garcetti, and Lori Lightfoot.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Almost all ten cities are likewise located in states currently led by Democrats:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>New Orleans, Louisiana<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Hialeah, Florida<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Newark, New Jersey<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>North Las Vegas, Nevada<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Chicago, Illinois<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Bridgeport, Connecticut<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Glendale, California<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Long Beach, California<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>New York, New York<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Los Angeles, California<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span>Currently, New York City\u2019s unemployment rate is 10.1%; Los Angeles and Chicago have unemployment rates of 10.5% and 10.7%, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The ten best cities \u2014 all of which are located in Republican-led states \u2014 are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Lincoln, Nebraska<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Omaha, Nebraska<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Huntsville, Alabama<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Manchester, New Hampshire<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Nashua, New Hampshire<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Salt Lake City, Utah<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Boise, Idaho<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Sioux Falls, South Dakota<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Nampa, Idaho<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Rapid City, South Dakota<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span>New York City, Los Angeles, and Chicago are under Democratic state and local leaders that have been quick to rely on lockdown policies and other COVID-related restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For instance, de Blasio recently <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nyc-mayor-urges-city-businesses-to-mandate-covid-19-vaccines\"><span>urged<\/span><\/a><span> employers to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine, arguing that the policy would \u201cchange the consciousness\u201d of unvaccinated people. Earlier in July, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/indoor-mask-mandate-returns-to-los-angeles-county-at-1159-pm-on-saturday\"><span>reintroduced<\/span><\/a><span> the city\u2019s indoor mask mandate for public settings \u2014 regardless of vaccination status.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>More broadly, Democrat-run states are <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/report-some-red-states-economies-already-stronger-than-they-were-before-covid\"><span>lagging<\/span><\/a><span> Republican-run states in economic growth. California presently ranks forty-fifth among states\u2019 returns to economic normalcy, while New York ranks fiftieth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For several years, states with low tax rates and minimal regulations have drawn companies and jobs away from left-leaning areas.
