At one point, a boulder hits a nearby bridge, causing it to break in half and fall into the river beneath it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/101563948729745\/videos\/952021432320291\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Multiple<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=2337818326349987&amp;t=58\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook users<\/a> have claimed in recent days that the video shows a landslide in Pakistan, with one such post having received over 6,200 views. That claim is, however, not correct. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/04\/29\/fact-check-image-house-caught-landslide\/\">(RELATED: Does This Image Show A Two-Story House Caught In A Landslide?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact determined through a keyword search that the pictured landslide actually occurred in India. News outlets, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/video\/world\/asia\/100000007885064\/india-landslide-himachal-pradesh-himalayas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/world\/2021\/07\/25\/india-landslide-bridge-collapse-eg-orig.cnn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/br.mobile.reuters.com\/video\/2021\/07\/26\/landslide-kills-nine-in-northern-india?videoId=733373028&amp;videoChannel=117846\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Reuters<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/8066506\/india-landslide-video-boulder-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Global News<\/a>, published the same footage with reporting about it showing a July 25 landslide that happened in the Himalayan state of <a href=\"https:\/\/himachal.nic.in\/en-IN\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Himachal Pradesh<\/a> in northern India. It killed at least nine people, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/world\/2021\/07\/25\/india-landslide-bridge-collapse-eg-orig.cnn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/video\/world\/asia\/100000007885064\/india-landslide-himachal-pradesh-himalayas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Landslides are \u201ccaused by disturbances in the natural stability of a slope\u201d and \u201ccan accompany heavy rains or follow droughts, earthquakes, or volcanic eruptions,\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/disasters\/landslides.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>. India, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsi.gov.in\/webcenter\/portal\/OCBIS\/pageGeoInfo\/pageLANDSLIDEHAZRD?_adf.ctrl-state=exffis3mq_5&amp;_afrLoop=27834684066174008#!\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has landslide-prone areas<\/a> in the Himalayas, has experienced heavy monsoon rains this season, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/07\/26\/world\/asia\/india-landslides-floods.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>On the day before the landslide in the video occurred in India, a landslide in Pakistan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/place\/Balochistan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Balochistan province<\/a> killed at least four coal mine workers, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/in.news.yahoo.com\/rain-triggered-landslide-hits-coal-122343458.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Press Trust of India<\/a>.
