Greg Abbott issued an executive order restricting non-governments from transporting illegal aliens.<\/p>\n<p>Garland sent a letter to Abbott urging the governor to rescind <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/29\/greg-abbott-restricts-migrants-who-pose-a-risk-of-covid-19-transported-communities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">executive order GA 37<\/a>, and said the order violated federal law. It also said that the Department of Justice (DOJ) would take legal action against Texas if the order remained in place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI urge you to immediately rescind the Order. If you do not do so, I\u2019m providing notice that the United States intends to pursue all appropriate legal remedies to ensure that Texas does not interfere with the functions of the federal government,\u201d the letter said. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/16\/border-patrol-agents-biden-administration-title-42\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(<strong>RELATED: Gird Your Loins: The Biden Admin Reportedly Warns Border Patrol To Prepare For Massive Amounts Of Migrant Families<\/strong>)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn short, the Order is contrary to federal law and cannot be enforced,\u201d he said, referring to the federal government\u2019s broad powers to enforce immigration laws. \u201cTo the extend the Order interferes with immigration enforcement, the Order is unconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"8.3792048929664\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">New: AG Garland has sent a letter to Texas Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GregAbbott_TX?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@GregAbbott_TX<\/a> threatening to sue over a newly-signed executive order that aims to restrict the transportation of recently-arrived migrants in the state. Garland calls the order \u201cdangerous and unlawful.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jL5HmWHyqH\">pic.twitter.com\/jL5HmWHyqH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alex Mallin (@alex_mallin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alex_mallin\/status\/1420852898737569792?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 29, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Abbot responded Thursday in a <a href=\"https:\/\/gov.texas.gov\/news\/post\/governor-abbott-fires-back-at-u.s-attorney-general-garlands-response-to-executive-order-ga-37\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> criticizing the Biden administration for its handling of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/28\/joe-biden-immigration-plans-donald-trump-chip-roy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">border crisis<\/a>. \u201cIt is clear that the Biden Administration fundamentally misunderstands what is truly happening at the Texas-Mexico border. The current crisis at our southern border is entirely the creation of the Biden Administration and its failed immigration policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn short, the Biden Administration is jeopardizing the health and safety of Texans on a daily basis by refusing to follow the law. I will take every available step consistent with the law to fulfill my duty to protect the health and safety of all Texans,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Abbott signed the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/29\/greg-abbott-restricts-migrants-who-pose-a-risk-of-covid-19-transported-communities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">executive order<\/a> Wednesday prohibiting any non-governmental entity from providing ground transportation \u201cto a group of migrants who have been detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for crossing the border illegally or who would have been subject to expulsion under the Title 42 order.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The order also directs the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to \u201cstop any vehicle upon suspicion of transporting migrants and to reroute such a vehicle back to its point of origin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Title 42 allows border officials to expedite the removal of certain <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/16\/border-190000-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">illegal aliens<\/a> seeking asylum in the US based on public health emergency.
