The former agent told Tom Jones, the president of the American Accountability Foundation, that he was so \u201cincensed\u201d upon hearing Chipman\u2019s remarks that he reported the incident to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).<\/p>\n<p>The DCNF was unable to reach the former ATF agent who reported the incident, however, another former ATF agent recalled that Chipman\u2019s alleged remarks had \u201cspread like wildfire at the agency\u201d at the time. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/22\/american-accountability-foundation-david-chipman\/\"><strong>(RELATED: \u2018They Must Have Been Cheating\u2019: Watchdog Group Sues For Records Relating To Derogatory Comments Biden\u2019s ATF Pick Allegedly Made Against Black Agents)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GOP senators told Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin of Illinois in their <a href=\"https:\/\/thereload.com\/app\/uploads\/2021\/07\/2021-07-29-SJC-Rs-to-Durbin-Chipman.pdf\">letter<\/a> Thursday that Chipman\u2019s alleged racist comments could no longer be ignored following a report Wednesday by <a href=\"https:\/\/thereload.com\/mcconnell-calls-for-biden-to-withdraw-atf-nominee-as-judiciary-republicans-ask-for-new-hearing-on-alleged-racist-remarks\/\">The Reload<\/a> that quoted current and former ATF agents corroborating the DCNF\u2019s prior reporting.<\/p>\n<p>The senators noted in their letter that the Judiciary Committee still has the authority to call Chipman back to testify before the committee in a public hearing as his nomination was never reported following the committee\u2019s split vote in June.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause the Judiciary Committee still has Mr. Chipman\u2019s nomination it\u2019s critical that we call him in for a public hearing to address these allegations before any move is made to advance his failed nomination to the Floor,\u201d the GOP senators told Durbin. \u201cFurthermore you as Chairman must lead the Judiciary Committee in calling on the Justice Department and Mr. Chipman to make public and transparent any such records referenced in these reports.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7199712\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"35\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7199712\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7199712 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/GettyImages-160818525-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"President Joe Bidens nominee to lead the ATF, David Chipman, speaks during a press conference on gun control in 2013. (Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The senators added that Durbin must make public the two EEOC complaints Chipman told Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in writing that he had received during his 15 years as a manager with the ATF. Chipman told Cruz that both complaints were resolved without any finding of discrimination, but he did not answer when asked if he was willing to provide his personnel file to the Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Jones hailed the senators for taking action on the allegations against Chipman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAAF was the reason David Chipman\u2019s racist comments came to light. Because of our tireless efforts, the Senate Judiciary Committee now has this important information,\u201d Jones said in a statement Thursday. \u201cWe will not stop fighting to provide the American people full transparency of the backgrounds of nominees slated to serve at the levels of our federal government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sen.
