The source characterized the Project Veritas video as an \u201cannoyance but a non-scandal.\u201d&nbsp; <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Clips of a leaked CNN interview published by Project Veritas show Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saying she thought she was going to be raped at the Capitol Riot.<\/p>\n<p>In the video clip <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projectveritas.com\/news\/breaking-unreleased-cnn-documentary-featuring-congresswoman-alexandria\/\">published by Project Veritas<\/a> Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez told CNN\u2019s Dana Bash that she is a survivor of sexual assault, noting that she has not \u201ctold many people that.\u201d Project Veritas\u2019 source believed CNN would air the interview in August, spokesman Mario Balaban told the Daily Caller News Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The New York Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/02\/ocasio-cortez-aoc-sexual-assault-capitol-riot\/\">previously announced in February<\/a> to her nine million Instagram followers that she is a survivor of sexual assault, arguing that those who say it is time to move on from the Capitol Riot are \u201cusing the same tactics of every other abuser who just tells you to move on.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/04\/alexandria-ocasio-smollett-aoc-capitol-riot-twitter\/\">(RELATED: \u2018Alexandria Ocasio Smollett\u2019 Trends As Critics Punch Holes In Her Dramatic Cap Hill Story)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor a lot of [sexual assault] survivors across the country, the decision to come forward oftentimes does not feel like a conscious one,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez told Bash, according to the video. \u201cThat impact was doubled that day because of the misogyny and the racism that was so deeply rooted and animated \u2014 that attack on the Capitol, you know, white supremacy and patriarchy are very linked in a lot of ways. There\u2019s a lot of sexualizing of that violence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cAnd I didn\u2019t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt sounds like what you\u2019re didn\u2019t only think that you were going to die, you thought you were going to be raped,\u201d Bash said in the interview.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez responded. She did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.&nbsp; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/01\/ocasio-cortez-capitol-riot-bathroom-capitol-police-officer\/\">(RELATED: Ocasio-Cortez Describes Hiding In Her Bathroom During Riot, Questions Whether Officer Purposefully Put Her At Risk)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A CNN source said the leaked clips are not from an unaired documentary but rather from a piece still being edited slated to air on television. The source characterized the Project Veritas video as an \u201cannoyance but a non-scandal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is journalism,\u201d Balaban said when pressed about why Project Veritas would publish a leaked CNN interview early. \u201cWhen people leak information the public deserves to know, Project Veritas will publish it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bigger question, according to Balaban, is why someone in CNN felt compelled to leak the footage early.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cClearly they thought it looked like a puff piece,\u201d he said. \u201cCNN was clearly framing a certain way. Someone obviously felt compelled to let Project Veritas break the story so the public could know what the story really is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Project Veritas Founder James O\u2019Keefe said in a video message that YouTube had removed the leaked CNN video Tuesday, saying it \u201ccontains content from Turner CNN, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.\u201d YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"UNBELIEVABLE: YouTube takes down Veritas video after CNN contacts them on &quot;copyright&quot; grounds\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R33YLUFTyow?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just another example of collusion between big media and big tech,\u201d O\u2019Keefe said. \u201cThey would never do this if CNN was publishing stuff from within Project Veritas. There would be no copy right issues. We are publishing things we think the public has a right to know, about a member of Congress, talking to Dana Bash.
