Sharpton and the National Action Network, which he founded, also agreed to pay a $77,000 penalty &#8220;for making prohibited contributions to Sharpton 2004.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other expenses listed by the FEC include $25,000 in press relations expenses, $2,400 for campaign video taping services, and salaries for a handful of employees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through his National Action Network, Sharpton frequently campaigns for Democratic causes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As The Daily Wire reported in March, the activist was at the forefront of plans to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/activists-plan-to-convince-sinema-manchin-to-support-filibuster-reform-by-calling-them-racist\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">accuse<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) of racism for refusing to end the filibuster \u2014 a Senate rule preventing Democratic lawmakers from enacting President Biden\u2019s agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe pressure that we are going to put on Sinema and Manchin is calling [the filibuster] racist and saying that they are, in effect, supporting racism,\u201d Sharpton told Politico. \u201cWhy would they be wedded to something that has those results? Their voters need to know that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sharpton likewise <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/al-sharpton-georgia-win-means-no-going-back-to-legal-apartheid\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that the electoral victories of Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) mean that \u201cthis country has really come back unto showing that we\u2019re not going backwards to the days of legal apartheid or segregation and divisiveness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last November, reports <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/al-sharpton-paid-his-family-more-than-80k-through-national-action-network-as-organization-spent-lavishly-on-travel\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">emerged<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that Sharpton had paid family members at least $80,000 to work for National Action Network.
