Michael Waltz (R-FL) introduced legislation meant to promote financial transparency within President Biden and Vice President Harris\u2019 immediate families \u2014 especially in reaction to Hunter Biden\u2019s new art career.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/waltz.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=529\"><span>Preventing Anonymous Income by Necessitating Transparency of Executive Relatives (PAINTER) Act<\/span><\/a><span> \u2014 introduced on Wednesday morning \u2014 would \u201crequire the President and Vice President of the United States to report the same financial disclosure information of their non-dependent children as currently required for their spouse and dependent children under Section 102(e) of the Ethics in Government Act,\u201d according to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/waltz.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=529\"><span>press release<\/span><\/a><span> from Waltz\u2019s office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Under the legislation, Biden and Harris would need to report the following information for their non-dependent children:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i><span>The source and type of earned income exceeding $1,000;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span>The source and amount of any honoraria received aggregating more than $200;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span>The source and type of income from dividends, rents, interest, and capital gains exceeding $200 and the value of the amount;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span>The source, description, and value of any gifts received due solely, or in part, to the non-dependent child\u2019s relationship with the President or Vice President; and<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span>The source, description, and value of any reimbursements received due solely, or in part, to the non-dependent child\u2019s relationship with the President or Vice President.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>\u201cUnder this administration, we have witnessed shameless attempts to profit off Joe Biden\u2019s presidency that jeopardize the integrity of the White House,\u201d commented Waltz in the release. \u201cDespite the Biden Administration\u2019s silence on this issue, American citizens have a right to know who is attempting to purchase access to the White House through an \u2018artist,\u2019 Hunter Biden, with no established credentials to warrant such enormous profits.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As referenced by Waltz, the bill emerges after Hunter Biden \u2014 the son of President Joe Biden \u2014 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-controversy-emerges-over-the-selling-of-hunter-bidens-high-priced-art\"><span>announced<\/span><\/a><span> a surprise foray into the art world. Through small, private showings in Los Angeles and New York, Hunter Biden is expected to sell artwork for up to $500,000 apiece.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/psaki-keeping-names-of-buyers-of-hunter-bidens-artwork-a-secret-is-quite-a-level-of-transparency\"><span>informed<\/span><\/a><span> reporters that the identities of the buyers would remain unknown to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOf course, he has the right to pursue an artistic career, just like any child of a president has the right to pursue a career,\u201d she said earlier in July. \u201cBut all interactions regarding the selling of art and the setting of prices will be handled by a professional gallerist, adhering to the highest industry standards.
