He added that the Secret Service officers were compelled \u201cto take the president to a bunker, remember that?\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/25\/pelosi-adam-kinzinger-jan-6-commission-jordan-banks\/\">(RELATED: Pelosi Adds Adam Kinzinger To Jan. 6 Commission, Doubles Down On Ousting Jordan, Banks)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div readability=\"14\">\n<p>Carlson recalled how just weeks later, \u201canother mob assaulted [Republican] Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and his protection detail as they left the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Fox News host noted, \u201cthe BLM rioter \u2026 punched a cop in the face, a cop who was trying to get Rand Paul to safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After the fact, Carlson said that \u201cthe BLM lunatic\u201d was not labeled \u201ca dangerous insurrectionist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The rioter\u2019s] actions didn\u2019t cause <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/27\/adam-schiff-chokes-up-capitol-riot-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">federal politicians to cry<\/a>, nor did Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney compare the incident to the attack on Pearl Harbor or to 9\/11.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy?\u201d Carlson asked. \u201cBecause the BLM guy supports the program,\u201d Carlson said, appearing to refer to progressivism.<\/p>\n<p>The host noted that the suspect was \u201cdetained briefly for his crimes,\u201d released from jail, and \u201cdid not rot in solitary in the D.C. jail for six months and counting for a nonviolent offense like so many Trump voters on January 6.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fox senior political analyst Brit Hume agreed with Carlson.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this were covered, Tucker, the way the riots of last summer were covered it would be described as \u2018mostly peaceful,&#8217;\u201d he said. (Tasos Katopodis\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cSome of them obviously had a terrible experience and considered it a near thing,\u201d Hume continued, referring to the Capitol police officers. \u201cBut There\u2019s certainly a disparity between the way that this event\u2019s been covered and the way it\u2019s been responded to politically and the way the more serious rioting of last summer with more deaths to show for it have been treated.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/19\/kevin-mccarthy-five-republicans-january-6-select-committee-capitol-riot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: McCarthy Selects The Five Republicans Who Will Serve On Jan. 6 Select Committee)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Metropolitan police officer Michael Fanone frequently referred to the Jan. 6 mob as \u201cterrorists\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/27\/officer-michael-fanone-january-6-terrorists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">while testifying<\/a> before the special committee Tuesday.
