Missouri is the latest state to offer a vaccine lottery as Gov. Mike Parson (R) unveiled <a href=\"https:\/\/covidvaccine.mo.gov\/win\/\">Missouri VIP<\/a> in an effort to encourage vaccination among \u201call Missourians ages 12 and up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parson went on to add that over the next three months, 900 Missourians who have been or choose to be vaccinated will \u201cwin cash or education savings account prizes in the amount of $10,000.\u201d Drawings will range from August 13 to October 8 and Missourians will be eligible once they have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdditionally, local public health agencies will receive funds to provide up to $25 in incentives for each individual that chooses to get vaccinated,\u201d stated the Missouri governor.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovParsonMO?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@GovParsonMO<\/a> just announced Missouri\u2019s Vaccine Incentive Program \u2013 MO VIP \u2013 which will reward 900 lucky Missourians who have chosen or will choose to be vaccinated. We will draw random winners to win $10k cash or a $10k education savings account depending on your age. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Hld5FMtfvh\">pic.twitter.com\/Hld5FMtfvh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mo Health &amp; Sr Srvcs (@HealthyLivingMo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HealthyLivingMo\/status\/1417944360537116675?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 21, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While several states have said their vaccination lotteries have been successful, a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that vaccine lotteries, particularly Ohio\u2019s, didn\u2019t make a huge impact on getting more people vaccinated.
