Many factors at play, but with GM Brian Gutekunst saying he is \u2018hopeful\u2019 for a positive outcome, there is a glimmer of optimism.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"12.14953271028\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Packers?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Packers<\/a> QB Aaron Rodgers has indicated to people close to him that he does plan to play for GB this season, sources say. The deal is not yet done, but the terms are as follows:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"14\">\n<p><em>* The 2023 year in Rodgers\u2019 contract \u2014 the last one in his current deal \u2014 would be voided, with no tags allowed in the future.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>* The Packers would agree to review Rodgers\u2019 situation at the end of this season.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>* Rodgers\u2019 contract would be adjusted with no loss of income to give the Packers more cap room now.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>* Mechanisms will be put in place to address Rodgers\u2019 issues with the team.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>The news comes a day before Rodgers and other Packers veterans are scheduled to report to camp \u2014 a day that has been circled on the calendar ever since reports surfaced in the offseason that Rodgers was unhappy with the organization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>On Monday, Mark Murphy \u2014 Packers president \u2014 said that the team is committed to Rodgers for the upcoming season and beyond, though a timetable for Rodgers\u2019 to report to training camp is not known.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHe is our leader, and we\u2019re looking forward to winning another Super Bowl with him,\u201d Murphy <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/31890077\/green-bay-packers-gm-brian-gutekunst-remains-hopeful-positive-resolution-qb-aaron-rodgers\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cObviously, it\u2019s been a challenging situation for both Aaron and us as an organization. But let\u2019s not forget all the great things Aaron has done for this organization. Three-time MVP, Super Bowl champion. It\u2019s easy to forget that but he\u2019s a phenomenal talent. Rodgers was reportedly not informed of the decision before the pick was made, leading many to believe that his days in Green Bay were numbered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cWith my situation, look, it\u2019s never been about the draft pick, picking Jordan,\u201d Rodgers <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/31505883\/aaron-rodgers-issue-green-bay-packers-philosophy-not-jordan-love\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span> on SportsCenter in May. \u201cI love Jordan; he\u2019s a great kid. [It\u2019s been] a lot of fun to work together. Love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. An incredible 16 years. It\u2019s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go.
