Adam Kinzinger (Ill.) to the January 6 committee. Kinzinger released a statement on Sunday and confirmed his acceptance of the Democrat\u2019s offer to sit on the investigatory panel.<\/p>\n<p>The Illinois lawmaker was notably one of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump in his second trial. He has been a consistent critic of the 45th president.<\/p>\n<p>Kinzinger has been the second Republican appointed by Pelosi to the panel as Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) also accepted the offer. This comes after House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) withdrew his five picks over Pelosi\u2019s opposition to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Rep.
