Jim Jordan and Rep. Jim Banks on the Select Committee to Investigate January 6 is intolerable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As The Daily Wire&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pelosi-says-it-would-have-been-ridiculous-to-include-two-gop-members-on-january-6-committee\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;on Thursday, Pelosi said her January 6 Select Committee will proceed despite what she labeled as Republican \u201cantics\u201d \u2014 a reference to McCarthy\u2019s decision to pull GOP participation from the committee after she refused to seat two of his five picks.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After Pelosi\u2019s decision to block two of McCarthy\u2019s choices, \u201cMcCarthy simply yanked Republican participation, imperiling the legitimacy of Pelosi\u2019s eventual findings, casting the Democrats Select Committee as a \u2018sham process,\u2019\u201d The Daily Wire&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mccarthy-yanks-gop-members-off-pelosis-jan-6th-committee-after-speaker-vetoes-two-republicans\"><span class=\"s1\">reported<\/span><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThis represents an egregious abuse of power and will irreparably damage this institution,\u201d McCarthy said in a statement. \u201cDenying the voices of members who have served in the military and law enforcement, as well as leaders of standing committees, has made it undeniable that this panel has lost all legitimacy and credibility, and shows the Speaker is more interested in playing politics than seeking the truth.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cUnless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts,\u201d McCarthy told reporters.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cOf the&nbsp;three [McCarthy picks] that I appointed, one of&nbsp;them voted against the&nbsp;ratification and the other two&nbsp;voted for it.&nbsp;Having said that, though, the&nbsp;other two [Jordan and Banks] made statements and&nbsp;took actions that just made it&nbsp;ridiculous to put them on such a&nbsp;committee seeking the truth,\u201d Pelosi&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/pelosi-jordan-banks-rejection-electoral-college-5c4ac754-672a-4aed-8c15-8c02c60c3ad4.html\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a>, per Axios.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWhen statements are ridiculous and fall into the realm of, \u2018You must be kidding,\u2019 there\u2019s no way that they\u2019re going to be on the committee,\u201d Pelosi&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/07\/22\/trump-allies-jordan-and-banks-were-ridiculous-choices-for-jan-6-commission-pelosi-says.html\"><span class=\"s1\">added<\/span><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI\u2019m not talking about him,\u201d Pelosi&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/07\/22\/pelosi-anti-trump-republicans-jan-6-investigation-500535\"><span class=\"s1\">said<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;of McCarthy on Thursday. \u201cLet\u2019s not waste each other\u2019s time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
