But public statements on the company\u2019s corporate website suggest the reported CRT instruction does reflect its official position.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/hasbro-training-session-teaches-employees-that-babies-can-be-racist\">reported<\/a>, whistleblower David Johnson, a packaging engineer, leaked documents to conservative guerrilla journalism outlet, Project Veritas, showing that Hasbro instructed employees that children as young as three could be guilty of a \u201cpro-white bias.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of the documents\u2019 claims:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"18\">\n<p><em>\u201cBy age three, children are already starting to apply stereotypes, and research shows that they also may use racist language intentionally at this age. White children at this age may report explicit or overt negative attitudes towards people of color \u2026 By age four, kids are showing a strong and consistent pro-white anti-black bias.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>At the age of five, children show many of the same racial attitudes held by adults \u2026 Children are really sensitive to the status of different racial groups in our society and show a high-status bias towards white people, which is the socially privileged group in our society. White children show pro-white bias at this age.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, Hasbro is claiming the training has been \u201cmischaracterized\u201d in the media, and that the statements were simply from a guest speaker from California nonprofit The Conscious Kid offering a \u201cdiverse [viewpoint].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission is to create the world\u2019s best play and entertainment experiences that connect children, fans, and families around the world,\u201d a Hasbro spokesperson told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-9805663\/Hasbro-whistleblower-claims-firms-CRT-training-teaches-babies-racist-3-months-old.html\">The Daily Mail<\/a>. \u201cWe occasionally invite third-party speakers for optional sessions to discuss diverse viewpoints. As always, the views expressed by external speakers are their own and do not reflect the views of the company.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet documentation on the toymaker\u2019s corporate website suggests that Hasbro\u2019s official views do align with ideas aligned with \u201canti-racist\u201d activism and Critical Race Theory, including its commitment to race-based hiring and the belief that racism is a widespread issue in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.hasbro.com\/en-us\/articles\/speaking_out_and_standing_in_solidarity\">open letter<\/a> from CEO Brian Goldner speaks of \u201csystemic racism\u201d and the \u201cpervasive racist events that continue to plague our society.\u201d Another <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.hasbro.com\/en-us\/articles\/town_hall_follow_up\">references<\/a> \u201cunconscious bias.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a company <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.hasbro.com\/en-us\/articles\/leadership_message_to_employees_where_we_go_from_here\">video<\/a> that highlights Hasbro\u2019s role in \u201c[shaping] minds and hearts from the earliest age,\u201d Goldner references the concept of \u201cprivilege,\u201d a cornerstone of CRT activism, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s time for us with the privilege of power to reflect on how best to use this privilege to bring about a more just world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the assertions on the company\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/csr.hasbro.com\/en-us\/diversity-inclusion\">Diversity and Inclusion Page<\/a>\u201d are the following statements:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p><em>We are committed to our goal to grow ethnically and racially diverse employee representation in the U.S. to 25 percent by 2025. We\u2019ve also taken several meaningful steps the past few years to help build a stronger, more diverse workforce and address unconscious bias in the hiring process, including the goal of establishing protocols to establish a 50 percent diverse interview slate for all open positions in the U.S.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Notably, Hasbro has not always been so accommodating to diverse viewpoints.<\/p>\n<p>After Disney fired Mandalorian actress Gina Carano for expressing conservative political views on social media, the company stopped manufacturing action figures of her popular character, Cara Dune.<\/p>\n<p><i>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
