The president came from a CNN town hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he addressed questions on the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines, inflation and more.<\/p>\n<p>At one point, moderator and CNN host Don Lemon asked Biden his thoughts on Republicans who say the Democratic Party is anti-police. The president <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/21\/biden-republicans-democrats-anti-police-lying\/\">responded by<\/a> saying Republicans are \u201clying\u201d and noted he himself has not called for defunding the police.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller asked Biden to clarify his comments and Biden noted he never said there is no one in the party who is anti-police. The president appeared to brush off the progressive wing of the party\u2019s thoughts on the subject and said he is the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said that is not the Democratic Party\u2019s position,\u201d Biden said. \u201cI\u2019m the Democratic Party. I am president. So is the Speaker of the House [Nancy Pelosi] and so is the Majority Leader [Chuck Schumer]. We are not defunding the police.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"11.370967741935\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">When pushed on whether there are people within the party who do want to defund the police, Biden said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAre there people in the Republican Party who think we\u2019re sucking the blood out of kids?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shelby Talcott (@ShelbyTalcott) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShelbyTalcott\/status\/1418068460727414784?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 22, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden, when pressed on whether members of the party do want to defund the police, responded with a dig that appeared to be a reference to QAnon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAre there people in the Republican Party who think we\u2019re sucking the blood out of kids?\u201d the president responded before heading into the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple members of the Democratic Party have clashed with the president on policing issues and pushed for defunding the police. New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Minnesota Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/06\/05\/ilhan-omar-minneapolis-police-department\/\">Ilhan Omar<\/a> and Missouri Rep.
