Jan. 6 commission. McCarthy made the announcement on Wednesday after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.speaker.gov\/newsroom\/72121-2\">Pelosi banned<\/a> Reps. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Jim Banks (R-Ind.) from serving on the committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the select committee,\u201d said Pelosi.<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy joined other House Republicans in a press conference on Wednesday where he slammed Pelosi for playing politics, calling her move unprecedented and a breach of power.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Unless Speaker Pelosi reverses course and seats all five Republican nominees, Republicans will not be party to their sham process and will instead pursue our own investigation of the facts. <\/p>\n<p>My full statement: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RmgeBFo41j\">https:\/\/t.co\/RmgeBFo41j<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GOPLeader\/status\/1417895887083393025?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 21, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In a statement earlier, McCarthy also called it a \u201csham process\u201d and promised Republicans would pursue their own investigation into Jan. 6 if Pelosi didn\u2019t rescind her decision. This leaves Wyoming Rep.
