Earlier on Monday, the nation\u2019s chief medical advisor stood beside the American Academy of Pediatrics who recommended schools could require young children as young as three-years-old to mask up indoors, regardless of their vaccination states.<\/p>\n<p>The move by AAP comes in stark contrast to the most recent wave of reopening across the country amid a downward trend in cases. Nonetheless, Fauci said the decision was totally acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, I think that the American Academy of Pediatrics, you know, they\u2019re a thoughtful group,\u201d he stated. \u201cThey analyze the situation and if they feel that\u2019s the way to go, I think that\u2019s the reasonable thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The AAP strongly recommends in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year and urges all who are eligible to be vaccinated to protect against COVID-19.
