Jim Banks, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Illinois Rep. Rodney Davis, North Dakota Rep. Kelly Armstrong and Texas Rep. Troy Nehls, Politico first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/07\/19\/mccarthy-zeroes-in-on-five-gop-members-for-jan-6-select-committee-500201\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reported<\/a>. The Daily Caller confirmed the reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/24\/nancy-pelosi-launches-select-committee-investigate-january-6-capitol-riot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;in late June that she would be establishing the select committee. (Photo by Samuel Corum\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The House Select Committee announced it will hold its first hearing July 27. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/15\/house-select-committee-sets-date-first-hearing-january-6-capitol-riot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: House Select Committee Sets Date For First Hearing On Jan. 6 Riot)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The resolution authorized Pelosi to select eight members to serve on the committee and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to select five.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution ended up passing in the House 222 to 190, with two Republicans joining all Democrats in voting in favor. Those two Republicans were Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger and Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has already picked her panelists. One of them is Cheney.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/30\/house-of-representatives-capitol-riot-donald-trump-nancy-pelosi-kevin-mccarthy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: House Passes Resolution Creating Select Committee Into Capitol Riot)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pelosi also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/house-select-committee-to-hold-its-first-hearing-on-jan-6-attack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">selected<\/a>&nbsp;Democratic Reps. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, California Rep. Adam Schiff, Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, California Rep. Zoe Lofgren, California Rep. Pete Aguilar, Virginia Rep. Elaine Luria and Florida Rep. Stephanie Murphy.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/24\/nancy-pelosi-launches-select-committee-investigate-january-6-capitol-riot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Pelosi Launches Select Committee To Investigate Jan. 6)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>McCarthy&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/05\/18\/politics\/kevin-mccarthy-opposes-1-6-commission\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;his opposition to a Jan. 6 commission in May.
