(Photo by SAUL LOEB\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Many of the recent shootings include children and teenagers.<\/p>\n<p>An 8-year-old boy and a 28-year-old man were wounded when someone in a black SUV fired shots early Sunday, according to ABC 7. The boy was sent to the hospital and is in good condition, and the man was treated and released on scene.<\/p>\n<p>Six people were shot outside a party Saturday night in Austin, including a 12-year-old girl and four teenagers who are in fair condition, according to ABC 7. The group was on the sidewalk when someone in a dark-colored SUV fired shots.<\/p>\n<p>Black people have been the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/23\/baltimore-chicago-milwaukee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">victims<\/a> of roughly 81% of the 317 murders in the first six months of 2021, and they were the victims of about 70% of the 295 murders committed in the first six months of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>While black people represented 207 of the murder victims in Chicago through the period last year ending on June 22, 2020, they represented 257 of the victims in 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"8.5365853658537\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\u201cMy hope is that this million-dollar reward fund incentivizes people to step up, to speak out and to help us to reclaim our streets from the shooters and the violence.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/fG61YJyehi\">https:\/\/t.co\/fG61YJyehi<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lori Lightfoot (@LoriLightfoot) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LoriLightfoot\/status\/1415835883748696072?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 16, 2021<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A Marine Corps Vietnam War veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/15\/veteran-beaten-attacked-car-jacking-dies-heart-attack-chicago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">died<\/a> of a heart attack Wednesday after two carjackers beat him relentlessly.<\/p>\n<p>73-year-old Keith Cooper was beaten by two men when they tried to steal his vehicle as he was running errands.
