To take a localized, specific approach that works with elected officials in communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, just 49% of residents have received at least one vaccine shot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe county also has a home-based vaccination request form on its website,\u201d Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/health\/north-carolina-county-doses-to-doors-vaccine\">reported<\/a>. \u201cThe latest update for Mecklenburg County includes data through July 7, which reported an average of 57 confirmed cases per day. As of July 7, the health department had administered 77,774 first doses of vaccine, and 72,308 second shots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not confrontational, it\u2019s not like you have to get the shot,\u201d Robert Dawkins, a volunteer with Action NC,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbtv.com\/2021\/07\/12\/doses-doors-mecklenburg-county-health-staff-offering-door-to-door-covid-19-vaccinations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&nbsp;told<\/a> WBTV.com.&nbsp;\u201cBut our job is to dispel rumors and things. We get people that will say \u2018yes I will get the shot,\u2019 but the follow-up has always been the issue. Will they go? How can we get people to go out and go? So, now that the health department is out with us, we miss that middle man.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Biden announced his plan to go door to door, critics blasted the move. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) took to social media to criticize the new strike-force plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow about don\u2019t knock on my door. You\u2019re not my parents. You\u2019re the government. Make the vaccine available, and let people be free to choose. Why is that concept so hard for the left?\u201d he wrote on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Country star John Rich offered a different plan: \u201cFYI: To any of Biden\u2019s missionaries who feel moved to knock on my door to push me to get the jab, I\u2019ll kindly invite you in, tell you about Jesus and make you listen to Ronald Reagan speeches until dinner. If you\u2019re still here, we\u2019ll have a slow, full reading of the Constitution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Radio host Steve Deace added: \u201cWhy do we need a \u2018vaccine passport\u2019 system if they\u2019re able to go door-to-door to the unvaccinated? Doesn\u2019t that mean they already know?
