Secretary Jen Psaki came under fire on Friday for saying that promoting \u201cmisinformation\u201d should get you banned from every social media platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou shouldn\u2019t be banned from one platform and not others for providing misinformation,\u201d Psaki <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/16\/jen-psaki-people-banned-social-media-one-platform-facebook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> in Friday\u2019s White House press briefing, calling on Facebook to \u201cmeasure and publicly share the impact of misinformation on their platform.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Psaki herself has a history of promoting many stories on Twitter before becoming White House press secretary that turned out to be false.<\/p>\n<p>After the New York Post published emails in late October 2020 found on Hunter Biden\u2019s laptop implicating his father, then-Democratic nominee for President Joe Biden, in his overseas business dealings, Psaki promoted Politico\u2019s much criticized story that lauded a letter signed by 50 former senior intelligence officials claiming the released emails had \u201call the classic earmarks of a Russian information reported by the Post and later <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/12\/10\/media-reasons-suppressing-hunter-biden-story-false\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">revealed<\/a> shortly after the election that he has been under federal investigation since 2018 for his activities in China and Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>No evidence was ever presented that the emails were part of a Russian disinformation campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki also promoted the dubious story that Russians were paying the Taliban in Afghanistan to kill American soldiers based on a leaked intelligence report.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. officials would later <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/15\/russia-bounty-taliban-low-confidence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reveal<\/a> that they only had \u201clow to moderate confidence\u201d in the veracity of the report that Russians put bounties on American troops and Psaki would <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/15\/psaki-biden-russia-bounty-donald-trump-apology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">offer<\/a> no apology for Biden repeatedly citing the story during the 2020 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Psaki also shared the Atlantic\u2019s story citing anonymous sources claiming President Donald Trump canceled a 2018 visit to a military cemetery in France where American troops were buried, saying that they were \u201csuckers and losers.\u201d <strong><a and losers\u201d story quickly unraveled when a FOIA\u2019d document from the Navy revealed that the visit to the cemetery was actually cancelled due to weather.<\/p>\n<blockquote href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeffreyGoldberg?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JeffreyGoldberg<\/a> and his \u201cfour sources\u201d claim Trump\u2019s helicopter flight to the US\/French cemetery wasn\u2019t cancelled due to weather.<\/p>\n<p>FOIA docs prove this to be false.<\/p>\n<p>Their \u201csources\u201d are failing basic fact checks \u2013 making them essentially worthless. <a the time also went on the record to deny the story, most notably former national security adviser John Bolton, who <a written an entire chapter about it in his book if it were true.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Psaki many times during the Trump administration pushed claims of Russian collusion that were proven false by the
