Democratic Gov. Republican Leader Scott Wilk told the AP. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/24\/oakland-people-color-low-income-five-hundred-monthly-income\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: City Of Oakland To Give Low Income Families Of Color $500 Monthly)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals who receive the monthly payments will have no restrictions on how they can spend the money, with <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/09\/ilhan-omar-universal-basic-income-jacob-frey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">monthly payments<\/a> to be determined by local officials, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt changes the philosophy from \u2018big brother government knows what\u2019s best for you.&#8217;\u201d Democratic Sen. Dave Cortese told the AP. \u201cWe\u2019ve been very prescriptive with that population as a state and as counties go. Look at the failure.
