Sherman was arrested at his wife\u2019s parents\u2019 home in Redmond, Washington, after crashing his black Mercedes sedan, according to officials.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Police arrived at the residence to find Sherman outside of the home, where he fought with police before being arrested and then taken to a local hospital.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/sports\/seahawks\/former-seahawk-cb-richard-sherman-arrested-on-suspicion-of-burglary-domestic-violence\/?utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_campaign=owned_echobox_sports&amp;utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1626287346\"><span>The Seattle Times<\/span><\/a><span>, Sherman attempted to walk away from police when they informed him that they were placing him under arrest. A police dog was used to apprehend Sherman, who suffered a cut on his lower leg during the arrest.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Late Wednesday, Seattle\u2019s KIRO Radio 97.3 FM released audio of the 911 call to police that led to the arrest. Toward the end of the call, the person calling 911 identified herself as \u201cAshley Sherman,\u201d Richard Sherman\u2019s wife.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>While on the call with the emergency dispatcher, Ashley Sherman can be heard asking requesting officer assistance, saying that her \u201chusband is drunk and threatening to kill himself.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cHe is being aggressive, he\u2019s wrestling with my uncle, he\u2019s threatening to kill himself, he has sent text messages to people saying he\u2019s going to hang himself \u2026 he said that if the police show up he\u2019ll try to fight them,\u201d Ashley Sherman said to the dispatcher.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The dispatcher asked if Sherman had been physical with anyone at the residence.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cYes, yes it has,\u201d Ashley said. \u201cHe just tried to fight him.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The woman can also be heard asking Sherman to stop and informs the dispatcher that he was attempting to leave in a black Mercedes SUV.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cRichard, please stop. Please stop,\u201d Ashley Sherman can be heard saying.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Audio of the 911 call can be heard below:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"5.618320610687\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">KIRO in Seattle has just aired the Richard Sherman 911 call. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/adlBo0i2Z6\">pic.twitter.com\/adlBo0i2Z6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Timothy Burke (@bubbaprog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bubbaprog\/status\/1415423008139845639?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In a subsequent call from Ashley Sherman, she said that she believed Richard Sherman was heading to her parents\u2019 house and that she had called ahead to warn them.<\/p>\n<p>Police intercepted Richard Sherman outside his wife\u2019s parents\u2019 home.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Seattle Times, police also received a call from a construction worker, who reported that a \u201cpossibly impaired driver had driven into a closed construction zone on eastbound Highway 520, just before the exit onto 148th Avenue Northeast, and struck a concrete barrier, Mead said. The driver left and a member of the work crew located the heavily damaged vehicle a half-mile away in a parking lot and called 911 to relay the information to troopers\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, the driver of the vehicle was no longer there, and police began their search for the driver.<\/p>\n<p>A 911 call was then placed to Redmond police officers around 1:49 a.m. of an alleged burglary in progress, where Sherman was arrested.<\/p>\n<p><span>Ashley Sherman \u2014 identifying herself as Ashley Moss \u2014 told the Seattle Times that \u201cno one was injured\u201d in the incident leading to Richard Sherman\u2019s arrest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cAt this time we\u2019re going to make no statements, except he didn\u2019t harm anybody,\u201d she <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/sports\/seahawks\/former-seahawk-cb-richard-sherman-arrested-on-suspicion-of-burglary-domestic-violence\/?utm_medium=Social&amp;utm_campaign=owned_echobox_sports&amp;utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1626287346\"><span>said<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cMy kids were not harmed in the incident. He\u2019s a good person and this is not his character. We\u2019re doing all right, just trying to get him out. I want people to know no one was injured.\u201d<\/span><span>&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Sherman is facing several charges and his hearing will take place Thursday afternoon, where a judge will determine whether there was probable cause for arrest.
