The state\u2019s Senate Leader Phil Berger has voiced his support for the measure.<\/p>\n<p>He said at the core of CRT is indoctrination and that his greatest fear is teaching children that race is determinative of whether or not someone is going to be successful or that it justifies present day discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>Berger added he\u2019s not alone in his quest for answers.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Associated Press, CRT was created in the 70\u2019s and 80\u2019s and claimed racism is systemic in American institutions, meaning white people are the dominant race in society. Although, Berger said he\u2019s always been skeptical of the Democrats\u2019 push for CRT in schools.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What do we do when confronted with a doctrine that \u201cquestions the very foundations of the liberal order\u201d? That\u2019s how leading legal scholars Richard Delgado and Jean Stefancic describe critical race theory, the school of thought they helped found. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ncpol?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ncpol<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/DoHPAHTIqV\">https:\/\/t.co\/DoHPAHTIqV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Senator Phil Berger (@SenatorBerger) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenatorBerger\/status\/1415338673596416002?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He noted that because he shares the same concerns as many other Americans, the goal of the GOP\u2019s proposal is to alleviate those concerns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, if they\u2019re not indoctrinating students then there should be no concern about the bill as drafted because all the bill prohibits is that indoctrination. So, if it\u2019s not happening then they shouldn\u2019t be up in arms about the existence of the bill,\u201d said Sen.
