You\u2019ve got to do much better than that or you\u2019re going to start seeing \u2026 a considerable increase in the number of cases that are going to be localized to those areas with low vaccination rates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To this, King admitted that she has some family members who do not want to get the vaccine. To put pressure on them, the anchor said she intends to tell them won\u2019t be welcome at her home for Thanksgiving without it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know how many more times you can say to people, \u2018Listen, it will save your life,\u2019\u201d she said to Fauci, adding, \u201cI have this problem with some members of my own family, which I\u2019m now going to ban for Thanksgiving vacation. That\u2019s how strongly I\u2019m taking what you\u2019re saying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>King has been an outspoken booster of the vaccine in the past. In May, she <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/IQJJ2WRO27E\">spoke<\/a> to late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert about the constant fear she felt at the height of the pandemic, saying, \u201cHonestly. I\u2019ve been so afraid, hunkered down here at home. I\u2019m tired of being scared.\u201d She then described the relief she felt when she was finally eligible to receive the shot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was so afraid to leave the house,\u201d she said of her time during the lockdowns. \u201cWe were broadcasting from here, so I\u2019d literally go from my bedroom to the TV room to the kitchen to the bedroom to the TV room. For excitement, I\u2019d go stand in the living room and wave at the birds! \u2018Hi, birds! Hi!\u2019 I was so afraid. But now, Stephen, I am vaccinated,\u201d she said. \u201cIt is my superpower. I am vaccinated. \u2026 I\u2019m taking little baby steps [back into the world].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>King later added, \u201cHere\u2019s the thing: I\u2019m tired of being scared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Daily Wire has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/cnn-medical-expert-urges-we-must-make-life-hard-for-unvaccinated-test-them-twice-weekly\">reported<\/a>, other media commentators have advocated making life \u201chard\u201d for those who decide to forgo the vaccine.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, CNN medical contributor and former head of Planned Parenthood Dr. Leana Wen argued suggested that unvaccinated people should be banned from attending public events and required to undergo frequent testing for the virus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated,\u201d she said, later adding, \u201cAt some point these mandates, by workplaces, by schools, I think it will be important to say, \u2018Hey, you can opt-out, but if you want to opt-out, you have to sign these forms, you have to get twice-weekly testing.
