On Monday evening, the state\u2019s Health Department updated their guidelines for the fall 2021 school year by saying students and teachers are required to wear masks indoors.<\/p>\n<p>However, the agency suggested school to develop their own guidelines to enforce the mask rule to avoid sending kids home unnecessarily. This includes providing face masks and other protective equipment as well as offering alternative educational opportunities for students who are sent home.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">UPDATE: California\u2019s school guidance will be clarified regarding masking enforcement, recognizing local schools\u2019 experience in keeping students and educators safe while ensuring schools fully reopen for in-person instruction.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CA Public Health (@CAPublicHealth) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CAPublicHealth\/status\/1414772859767910407?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 13, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all about choice.
