Complicated accounts of CRT have emerged in the process, but its real intention is simple.<\/p>\n<p>Attention to this once-unknown issue is largely the work of journalist Christopher Rufo. His <a href=\"https:\/\/christopherrufo.com\/articles\/\">research has exposed<\/a> how CRT is promoted in schools, corporations and government agencies. The subtle racial indoctrination of practices such as diversity training even <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/09\/01\/christopher-rufo-tucker-carlson-critical-race-theory-indoctrination-government\/\">caught the eye of<\/a> former President Donald Trump, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/M-20-34.pdf\">banned the practice<\/a> for federal employees last year.<\/p>\n<p>CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist, yet it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue \u201cantiracism\u201d through the end of merit, objective truth and the adoption of race-based policies.<\/p>\n<p>But Rufo\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1394395052034596864\">description<\/a> of CRT is that it\u2019s a racial ideology rooted in Marxism. In an April 22 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/how-to-fight-critical-race-theory\">article<\/a> published in City Journal, he argued that critical race theorists substituted Marx\u2019s economic dialectic of capitalists and workers with a \u201ccoalition of the dispossessed based on racial and ethnic categories.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"7.2258064516129\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Critical race theory is racialized Marxism. Rufo \u2694\ufe0f (@realchrisrufo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1394395052034596864?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 17, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s true that critical studies has its origins in the Frankfurt School, a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/07\/20\/black-lives-matter-protests-riots-critical-theory-frankfurt-school\/\">school of thought<\/a> developed by Marxist intellectuals, and that some of CRT\u2019s founding scholars have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/29\/critical-race-theory-richard-delgado-jean-stefancic-education\/\">associated themselves<\/a> with Marxism. But the obfuscation of CRT with concepts like Marxism or \u201cpostmodernism\u201d ignores its real intention: CRT is the politics of racial grievance directed against white people.<\/p>\n<p>Robin DiAngelo, who coined the term \u201cwhite fragility\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2019\/07\/28\/white-liberals-profit-privilege\/\">makes thousands of dollars<\/a> lecturing white liberals about their \u201cprivilege,\u201d might be the best example of how CRT is primarily intended to promote anti-white racial grievance. DiAngelo has had her work cited in numerous <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/11\/16\/white-fragility-inventor-there-are-too-many-white-teachers\/\">universities<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/10\/28\/parent-groups-letter-secretary-education-betsy-devos-critical-race-theory-loudon-county-public-schools\/\">school districts<\/a> and workplaces as part of \u201cantiracism\u201d and diversity training.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/12\/04\/san-diego-unified-school-district-white-privilege-christopher-rufo-racism-training\/\">leaked documents<\/a> of a \u201cwhite privilege\u201d training for teachers and students at San Diego Unified School Districts that featured DiAngelo\u2019s work, the majority-white attendees and were shown a presentation that proclaimed \u201cYou are Racist\u201d and prompted teachers to consider how they \u201care upholding racist ideas, structures and policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"8.8397790055249\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The teachers are told that they are part of an oppressive white power structure. The trainers claim that \u201cwhite people in America hold most of the [power]\u201d and that white teachers have an \u201cability to thrive\u201d that is \u201cbeing preserved at every level of power.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/NMTpiyb6Ws\">pic.twitter.com\/NMTpiyb6Ws<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Christopher F. Rufo \u2694\ufe0f (@realchrisrufo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1334608174226132992?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 3, 2020<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DiAngelo\u2019s work was also featured in a course titled \u201cConfronting Racism\u201d that whistleblowers said was required for Coca-Cola employees. The course was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/23\/linkedin-robin-diangelo-confronting-racism-course-removed-be-less-white-diversity-coca-cola\/\">scrubbed from LinkedIn<\/a> but included material instructing participants to \u201cbe less white.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ibram X. Kendi, a so-called \u201cantiracism\u201d scholar, is another figure who appears prominently in CRT instruction. Kendi <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/06\/06\/cbs-contributor-ibram-kendi-racism\/\">once said on CBS This Morning<\/a> in June 2020 that it\u2019s \u201ccritical for white people \u2026 to stop denying their racist ideas, to stop denying the ways in which policies have benefitted them, to stop denying their racism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The explicit anti-white character of CRT has become more prevalent in a number of other institutions. The Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/09\/journal-american-psychoanalytic-association-whiteness-parasitic-condition\/\">published a paper<\/a> earlier in June that described \u201cwhiteness\u201d as a mental condition and likened it to a \u201cmalignant, parasitic-like\u201d condition that does not have a permanent cure.<\/p>\n<p>Anti-white practices may also be taking place under the Biden administration. The Small Business Administration announced in May that restaurants, bars and other venues <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/funding-programs\/loans\/covid-19-relief-options\/restaurant-revitalization-fund#section-header-10\">can apply for federal relief<\/a> under the American Rescue Plan that President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/03\/11\/joe-biden-signs-american-rescue-plan\/\">signed into law<\/a> in March. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/25\/critical-race-theory-midterms-poll-biden-2022\/\">(RELATED: The Response From Liberals On Resistance To Critical Race Theory Is To Pretend It Doesn\u2019t Exist. The Strategy Will Backfire)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But the program is providing priority status to venues owned by women, veterans and members of a \u201csocially or economically disadvantaged\u201d class. The administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sba.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2021-04\/SBA%20Form%203172%20RRF%20Application%204.20.21-508.pdf\">definition<\/a> for that class of people specifically excludes white people.<\/p>\n<p>Rufo himself said CRT \u201cis explicitly anti-white\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1397620203387703299\">in a tweet<\/a> responding to Revolver News\u2019 Darren Beattie on the subject. But he qualified his criticism by arguing that \u201canti-whiteness is merely one element\u201d and that CRT is \u201calso anti-Asian, anti-rational and anti-democratic.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"14.46587537092\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Sure, critical race theory is explicitly anti-white (in the clip, I reference Ignatiev\u2019s campaign to \u201cabolish the white race\u201d), but it is also anti-Asian, anti-rational, and anti-democratic. I think it is much deeper problem\u2014\u201danti-whiteness\u201d is merely one element.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Christopher F. Rufo \u2694\ufe0f (@realchrisrufo) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realchrisrufo\/status\/1397620203387703299?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 26, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Other critics of CRT such as Karlyn Borysenko <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DrKarlynB\/status\/1407406761531817985\">have claimed<\/a> the ideology is \u201cracist against everyone\u201d or that it\u2019s even anti-black, as one black mother told the Florida Board of Education in a <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/11\/florida-mother-racist-school-critical-race-theory-board-of-education\/\">now-viral exchange<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s true that Asian Americans have been <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/projectinclude\/we-need-to-talk-about-what-it-means-to-be-white-adjacent-in-tech-f91fbcce7a42\">subject to criticism<\/a> by \u201cantiracism\u201d advocates for being \u201cwhite-adjacent\u201d or for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/education\/archive\/2018\/08\/the-whitening-of-asian-americans\/563336\/\">assimilating into<\/a> \u201cwhiteness.\u201d Asian Americans have also alleged that race-based policies like <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/25\/students-for-fair-admissions-harvard-lawsuit-supreme-court-ban-race-college-admissions\/\">affirmative action<\/a> place an unfair burden on them compared to other minorities.<\/p>\n<p>But Rufo\u2019s own research shows almost all the concepts associated with CRT are specifically, even explicitly, directed toward white people. It is \u201cwhiteness\u201d rather than \u201cAsianness\u201d or \u201cblackness\u201d which is condemned, and proponents of CRT do not necessarily rely on philosophical arguments against rationalism or liberal democracy. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/25\/critical-race-theory-poll-republicans-voters\/\">(RELATED: The War Against Critical Race Theory Seems To Be Working, According To The Polls)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/critical-race-theory-portland-public-schools?wallit_nosession=1\">report on schools<\/a> in Portland published in the spring 2021 edition of City Journal, Rufo noted that \u201cantiracist resources\u201d given to teachers by the city\u2019s equity and inclusion office were intended to \u201cfacilitate growth for white folks to become allies, and eventually accomplices, for anti-racist work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The resources given to teachers assume that all white people are born \u201cracist\u201d and they must be confronted with \u201cexperiences that highlight their whiteness,\u201d Rufo wrote.
