Louie Gohmert and Republican Florida Rep. Bill Posey. In the letter, the lawmakers call on the NSA to provide them with information about allegations that the agency was spying on Carlson in regards <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/07\/tucker-carlson-unmasked-intelligence-officials-private-communications-leaked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">to communication with U.S.-based Kremlin intermediaries<\/a> pertaining to a potential interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/tucker-carlson-putin-interview-surveillance-c9952d7c-33d7-45e9-be68-2ba4c3817f98.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Axios<\/a> reported. The Axios report referenced&nbsp; two sources \u201cfamiliar with Carlson\u2019s communications.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In late June, Carlson said that the NSA was spying on him, and reading confidential texts and emails in order to try and take his show off the air. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/28\/tucker-carlson-nsa-spying\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Tucker Carlson Says He Has Confirmed The NSA Is Spying On Him)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens, it\u2019s a crime,\u201d Carlson <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/28\/tucker-carlson-nsa-spying\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not a third-world country. Things like that should not happen in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NSA <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/29\/nsa-responds-tucker-carlson-claims-never-intelligence-target\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">denied<\/a> the allegations from Carlson.<\/p>\n<p>The letter was signed by 15 other House Republicans who all called for the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cA detailed description of the \u201climited exceptions\u201d that would permit the NSA to target a US citizen without a court order, as the Agency understands the term as it is used in its own tweet.<\/li>\n<li>A detailed description of what constitutes an \u201cemergency\u201d that would permit the NSA to target a US citizen without a court order, as the Agency understands the term as used in its own tweet.<\/li>\n<li>A detailed description of \u201cthe foreign activities that could harm the United States\u201d, as the Agency understands the phrase as used in its own tweet.<\/li>\n<li>A full explanation of when the Agency understands it is lawful to monitor, surveil, collect, unmask, or receive data on a US citizen without a court order explicitly authorizing such targeting, including while conducted in the course of targeting foreign powers.<\/li>\n<li>A detailed description of how the Agency defines \u201cdomestic terrorist\u201d and when its mission could extend to targeting foreign powers who are corresponding with individuals defined as such.<\/li>\n<li>A detailed description of your understanding of the term \u201cclandestine intelligence activities.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>What specific actions have been taken to hold accountable those who unmasked, approved unmasking, or shared information on unmasked U.S. citizens?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>READ THE LETTER HERE:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"View (DAILY CALLER OBTAINED) -- Letter to NSA Director Re Tucker Carlson - Signatures on Scribd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/515664085\/DAILY-CALLER-OBTAINED-Letter-to-NSA-Director-Re-Tucker-Carlson-Signatures#from_embed\">(DAILY CALLER OBTAINED) \u2014 \u2026<\/a> by <a title=\"View Henry Rodgers&#039;s profile on Scribd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/user\/527927298\/Henry-Rodgers#from_embed\">Henry Rodgers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the disturbing treatment of Donald Trump by the Deep State, it should come as no surprise that intelligence agencies are continuing their illegal surveillance of Americans who dare to challenge power-hungry elites in Washington, D.C.,\u201d Gohmert said in a statement to the Daily Caller. \u201cReports about the NSA spying on Tucker Carlson are reminiscent of something one would expect to see in a tyrannical dictatorship, not the United States of America where citizens supposedly still have Constitutional rights.
