Core inflation \u2014 which factors out food and energy costs \u2014 increased year-over-year by 4.5%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As detailed by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/inflation-surge-democrats-spending-mcconnell\"><span>Fox Business<\/span><\/a><span>, McConnell pointed to President Biden\u2019s $1.9 trillion <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/comparing-trump-and-bidens-covid-relief-bills\"><span>American Rescue Plan<\/span><\/a><span> as a cause for the inflationary spike.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"8.3884297520661\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) is misreading the current mandate from voters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cOur distinguished colleague, the junior senator from Vermont, the chair of the budget committee, has been very transparent about his socialist ideology for decades. Very upfront about it,\u201d McConnell said. \u201cBut the country didn\u2019t elect a 50-50 Senate and a president who claimed to be moderate so that chairman senators could turn America into a socialist country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Rising inflation in the United States is worrying consumers and business owners alike.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inflation-expectations-under-biden-hit-highest-levels-on-record\"><span>data<\/span><\/a><span> released Monday by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, consumers\u2019 expectations for one-year inflation climbed to 4.8% \u2014 a 0.8% increase since last month and the highest levels since recording began in 2013.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/heres-how-inflation-hurts-americans-pocketbooks\"><span>Inflation<\/span><\/a><span> has salient effects on Americans\u2019 pocketbooks. For instance, a recent survey showed that parents <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/thanks-to-inflation-back-to-school-prices-expected-to-skyrocket\"><span>foresee<\/span><\/a><span> a 9% year-over-year increase in their back-to-school spending. Last year, they anticipated spending $247; this year, they anticipate $268. Meanwhile, gas prices have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/gas-prices-have-increased-40-under-democrat-joe-biden-analysts-issue-warning-about-future-prices\"><span>risen<\/span><\/a><span> by 40% since January.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>For American businesses, the Producer Price Index \u2014 which tracks changes in input prices for domestic producers \u2014 saw a 6.6% year-over-year <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/american-businesses-see-largest-producer-price-surge-since-tracking-began\"><span>increase<\/span><\/a><span>. According to the Department of Labor, the hikes are the largest \u201csince 12-month data were first calculated in November 2010.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>As McConnell noted, the American Rescue Plan is at least in part behind higher price levels.
