Lake Forest chief communications officer Melissa Oakley said the school filed an appeal to YouTube but has not heard back.<\/p>\n<p>YouTube&#8217;s guidelines prohibit videos that question the World Health Organization&#8217;s COVID policies, including a recommendation that children twelve and older wear masks indoors. The platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/youtube-removed-30000-covid19-vaccine-videos-misinformation-a8968086-95a4-4d5e-86da-0e22ddbc1b6a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has removed<\/a> more than 30,000 videos containing &#8220;COVID misinformation&#8221; since the beginning of the pandemic, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/technology\/2021\/04\/09\/desantis-youtube-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discussion<\/a> hosted by Florida governor Ron DeSantis (R.) in which panelists suggested masks weren&#8217;t necessary for children. Studies have <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/new-study-finds-covid-transmission-in-schools-is-extremely-rare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shown<\/a> that in-school COVID transmission is incredibly rare.<\/p>\n<p>CDC guidelines recommend children who are not fully vaccinated wear masks indoors, but school districts have freedom to set their own policies. CDC data <a href=\"https:\/\/data.cdc.gov\/NCHS\/Provisional-COVID-19-Deaths-by-Sex-and-Age\/9bhg-hcku\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">indicate<\/a> 49,047 deaths of people under the age of 18 last year, of which only 331 were from COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Oakley said Lake Forest High records its meeting by livestreaming directly to YouTube, which means it cannot now access the video. She said YouTube had also pulled a previous board meeting.<\/p>\n<p>One apparent attendee at Monday&#8217;s meeting <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hcc8909\/status\/1414962538949787655?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a> on Twitter, &#8220;The meeting was AWESOME! Concerned and courageous parents spoke up, the BOE heard our message\u2026.
