Biden\u2019s Climate Envoy John Kerry arrived in Moscow on Monday to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting between Kerry and Lavrov came after Biden vowed to take a tough stance on Russia. However, sanctions on the Putin regime have continued to be gradually lifted.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">It is critical we enhance global climate ambition on the road to Glasgow and beyond. A good start discussing opportunities with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mfa_russia?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@mfa_russia<\/a> to tackle the climate crisis. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/l2we80lmBL\">pic.twitter.com\/l2we80lmBL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Special Presidential Envoy John Kerry (@ClimateEnvoy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClimateEnvoy\/status\/1414648393851416577?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kerry said he hoped to convince Russia to join Biden\u2019s environmental goals and reduce carbon emissions.
