The two officials held talks on Monday to address security challenges in the wake of U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting comes as terror group Taliban has made rapid gains on the ground, which led Afghan forces to flee to neighboring Tajikistan. The Taliban has taken control over multiple districts, including areas along the border of Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Defence Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BWallaceMP?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BWallaceMP<\/a> met with <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SecDef?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@SecDef<\/a> Lloyd Austin in Washington for talks today.
