A Pfizer spokesperson denied the claim.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/emergency-preparedness-and-response\/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19\/pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine<\/a> is one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/emergency-preparedness-and-response\/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19\/covid-19-vaccines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">three COVID-19 vaccines<\/a> that has received emergency use authorization (EUA) from the FDA. It received the EUA from the FDA in December 2020, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pfizer.com\/news\/press-release\/press-release-detail\/pfizer-and-biontech-celebrate-historic-first-authorization\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pfizer press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/amykayesimon\/posts\/10159912870228092\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook post<\/a> alleges the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine contains graphene oxide, a material made by oxidizing graphene. However, there is no evidence the vaccine actually contains graphene oxide.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact reviewed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/media\/144413\/download\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FDA fact sheet for health care providers administering the vaccine<\/a> and did not find graphene oxide listed among its ingredients. The CDC also provides a list of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine\u2019s ingredients on its website, and graphene oxide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/vaccines\/covid-19\/clinical-considerations\/covid-19-vaccines-us.html#Appendix-C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">does not appear<\/a> among its active or inactive ingredients there, either.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGraphene oxide is not used in the manufacture of the Covid-19 mRNA-lipid nanoparticle,\u201d Keanna Ghazvini, a Pfizer spokesperson, told Check Your Fact in an email. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/04\/30\/fact-check-moderna-vaccine-luciferin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does The Moderna Vaccine Contain Luciferin?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Massachusetts Institute of Technology chemical engineering professor <a href=\"https:\/\/cheme.mit.edu\/profile\/allan-s-myerson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Allan Myerson<\/a> also told the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/fact-checking-430816913228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Associated Press<\/a>, \u201cIt is not in the ingredient list and there is no way it could be present.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The claim may stem from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.docdroid.net\/rNgtxyh\/microscopia-de-vial-corminaty-dr-campra-firma-e-1-fusionado-pdf#page=22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">non-peer reviewed report<\/a>, written by a University of Almeria professor, that alleged to have found indications of graphene oxide in the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
