In an <a href=\"https:\/\/lamborn.house.gov\/sites\/lamborn.house.gov\/files\/Lamborn%20DOL%20Audit%20Letter.pdf\">open letter<\/a> on Friday, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and others called for a probe by the Labor Department\u2019s acting Inspector General Larry Turner.<\/p>\n<p>The Republicans say U.S. taxpayer dollars were given to fraudulent claims under the pretext of COVID-19 relief.&nbsp; This comes after independent auditors found up to $400 billion, or half of jobless relief money, was reportedly stolen by criminals.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Breaking \ud83d\udea8 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepSteel?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@RepSteel<\/a>, &amp; I led a letter with 29 of our <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HouseGOP?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HouseGOP<\/a> colleagues calling for an audit of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/USDOL?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@USDOL<\/a> over the widespread fraud occurring in the pandemic unemployment insurance program.
