The updates are in response to a Supreme Court <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/case-files\/cases\/bostock-v-clayton-county-georgia\/\"><span>case<\/span><\/a><span> that ruled that discrimination based on transgender status is \u201csex discrimination.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cIntentionally and repeatedly using the wrong name and pronoun to refer to a transgender employee could contribute to an unlawful hostile work environment,\u201d the email reads. \u201cAccidental misuse of a transgender employee\u2019s preferred name and pronoun does not violate Title VII.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>An internal whistleblower told The Daily Wire that they are concerned that this updated guidance violates an officer\u2019s religious freedom. They dubbed the new rules \u201ctroubling.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The email also included a slew of LGBT \u201cglossary terms\u201d including \u201cintersex,\u201d \u201csex-based harassment,\u201d and \u201ctransition.\u201d Per the definition, officers would seemingly be guilty of \u201csex-based harassment\u201d if they used a transgender employee\u2019s wrong pronouns or name.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cSex-based harassment\u201d is defined as \u201cunwelcome conduct that is severe or pervasive and has no sexual component, but is instead aimed at disparaging an employee because of the employee\u2019s gender or sex.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The email also included a \u201cmyth buster\u201d which told Naval officers that transgender men are allowed to use women\u2019s bathrooms and locker room facilities and vice versa. The email cited the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission\u2019s (EEOC) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eeoc.gov\/laws\/guidance\/fact-sheet-facilitybathroom-access-and-gender-identity\"><span>fact sheet<\/span><\/a><span> on bathroom access.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cEmployers may have separate facilities for men and women, but may also choose to have unisex or single-use facilities,\u201d the Navy email reads. \u201cHowever, the EEOC has taken the position that when these facilities are segregated by sex, all men and women, including transgender men and women \u2018should be allowed to use\u2019 the facility that corresponds to their gender identity.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Navy has become increasingly \u201cwoke\u201d following the inauguration of President Joe Biden. According to a slew of declassified memos obtained by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/navy-eradicating-extremism-training-black-lives-matter-is-not-politically-partisan-in-nature\"><span>The Daily Wire<\/span><\/a><span>, the Navy held mandated training on \u201ceradicating extremism.\u201d The training told officers that Black Lives Matter is not a political or extremist organization.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Office of Naval Intelligence also established an \u201cArtwork Working Group\u201d that was created to \u201caddress the issue\u201d of inclusion in artwork within the naval offices. Kendi\u2019s \u201cHow to Be an Antiracist\u201d and other books that discuss critical race theory. GOP Rep. Doug Lamborn, who represents the Colorado area that houses the Air Force Academy, lambasted Chief Naval Operations Adm.
