This follows American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten, who accused GOP lawmakers of bullying teachers out of teaching students the truth.<\/p>\n<p>Lara Trump told sources on Thursday, \u201cthe bottom line is that anything that would teach us anything but loving our country, loving one another, and judging people based on the content of their character, solely is just flat wrong.\u201d She added, Americans want their children to be taught the truth, but critical race theory promotes judgement based on skin color and is not a positive way of educating young Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Weingarten argued opposition to the implementation of CRT in schools is hurting children\u2019s education, despite major pushback from parents and teachers that believe the curriculum creates more division.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Florida\u2019s education system exists to create opportunity for our children. Critical Race Theory teaches kids to hate our country and to hate each other. It is state-sanctioned racism and has no place in Florida schools. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ludv7ARgNP\">pic.twitter.com\/ludv7ARgNP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovRonDeSantis\/status\/1402983754134704129?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 10, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>States across the country have passed legislation in response to progressive\u2019s push for CRT in schools, including bills signed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).<\/p>\n<p>The legislation DeSantis signed to combat CRT says what is taught \u201cmust be factual and objective, and may not suppress or distort significant historical events.\u201d Additionally, Gov.
