In fact, in 2021, the vast majority of contributions went to Democrats and Republicans who supported the certification of the 2020 election.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/04\/jp-morgan-chase-republicans-capitol-riot-joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: JP Morgan To Withhold Donations From GOP Election Objectors)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company initially <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/28\/toyota-defends-donations-republicans-electoral-college\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">defended<\/a> its donations to 2020 Republican objectors after Axios\u2019 report, saying that it does \u201cnot believe it is appropriate to judge members of Congress solely based on their votes on the electoral certification.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many Toyota customers pledged to stop buying its cars as a result, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ProjectLincoln\/status\/1413120694574059528\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lincoln Project<\/a> released an ad Thursday suggesting a boycott of Toyota over the company\u2019s donations.<\/p>\n<p>Content created by The Daily Caller News Foundation is available without charge to any eligible news publisher that can provide a large audience.
