He has made public appearances since June 27.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A rumor spreading online suggests Museveni, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/biography\/Yoweri-Kaguta-Museveni\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has served<\/a> as president of Uganda since 1986, was recently airlifted to Germany due to COVID-19. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/leonardomulwenge.sikada\/posts\/2599039366908769\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">One such June 27 Facebook post<\/a> reads, \u201cBreaking news Museveni airlifted to Germany due to covid 19.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, Check Your Fact found <a href=\"https:\/\/statehouse.go.ug\/search\/node\/Germany\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no mention<\/a> of the alleged medical emergency on the State House of Uganda\u2019s website. There also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=Museveni+airlifted+to+Germany&amp;rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS820US820&amp;source=lnms&amp;tbm=nws&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwixtZaVj9HxAhWgkWoFHdxBDGoQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&amp;biw=877&amp;bih=949\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">do not appear<\/a> to be any major media outlets reporting Museveni was airlifted to Germany for COVID-19 complications on June 27 or any other date.<\/p>\n<p>On June 27, the same day he was supposedly airlifted to Germany, Museveni gave a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Makerere\/videos\/195587362479563\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">speech<\/a> during the first day of the <a href=\"https:\/\/yowerikmuseveni.com\/speech-world-health-summit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">World Health Summit<\/a> in Kampala, Uganda. Video from that event shows Museveni seemingly in good health. He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fao.org\/news\/story\/en\/item\/1414364\/icode\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also participated<\/a> in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0kVQo6d8epg&amp;t=7967s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">virtual United Nations event<\/a> on July 1 and, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KagutaMuseveni\/status\/1412478251788820489\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his Twitter account<\/a>, made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iol.co.za\/news\/africa\/ugandan-mrna-vaccine-plant-opened-in-african-milestone-a0e87d64-4274-5688-9dcd-106ebf126b2c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">public appearance<\/a> in Matugga, Uganda, on July 6.<\/p>\n<p>Museveni\u2019s Twitter account <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KagutaMuseveni\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has been active<\/a> since June 27, further adding to the claim\u2019s dubiousness.
