The claim appears to stem from a prank website.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones, is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grammy.com\/grammys\/artists\/lil-baby\/251874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Grammy-nominated<\/a> rapper known for songs such as \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nUEqPtVGIpE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Woah<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_VDGysJGNoI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Bigger Picture<\/a>,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/columns\/hip-hop\/9325126\/lil-baby-10-best-songs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Billboard<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/05\/28\/fact-check-rapper-xxxtentacion-tweet-faked-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Rapper XXXTentacion Tweet That He Faked His Death?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/monica.williams.9465\/posts\/4103788453031235\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">image<\/a> shared June 26 shows what appears to be a screen grab of an article alleging that Lil Baby was \u201cfound dead in a car parked by his house\u201d and that anonymous sources said the rapper had been \u201cshot multiple times in the chest area.\u201d Police are \u201con the hunt\u201d for the alleged shooter, the text goes on to claim.<\/p>\n<p>There is, however, no evidence Lil Baby was killed. Quality Control, the label <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/music\/story\/2020-12-07\/lil-baby-my-turn-bigger-picture-grammys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">to which<\/a> he\u2019s signed, has not put out a <a href=\"https:\/\/qualitycontrolmusic.com\/Press\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press release<\/a> announcing Lil Baby\u2019s death, nor has anything to that effect been posted on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iamlilbaby.com\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the rapper\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Further adding to the claim\u2019s dubiousness, Lil Baby has posted on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lilbaby\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his verified Instagram account<\/a> multiple times since June 26, the date the image was shared on Facebook. In addition, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=MdXW7Nc0RtE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">performed<\/a> at the June 27 BET Awards, and tickets for his upcoming shows are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iamlilbaby.com\/#\/tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">still available<\/a> for purchase.<\/p>\n<p>The text in the Facebook image matches that of a <a href=\"https:\/\/channel22news.com\/lil-baby-shot-dead\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">prank article<\/a> posted on Channel 22 News, a website that allows users to create their own fabricated news articles for the purpose of pranks.
